The Perry Chamber of Commerce’s annual fireworks drive for the community’s Fourth of July celebration has received an overwhelming response during the second round of the Big Boom Bracket Battle. The latest round has generated close to $1,500 in donations, bringing the total fundraising efforts to an impressive $3,819.05!
As the bracket-style contest entered its second week of collecting donations, the Perry Chamber revealed the Firecracker 4 who will advance to the next round. This round was expected to be lighter, as there were fewer contestants, and many had put in significant effort to make it past the first round. Last-minute donations poured in, resulting in exciting shifts in the final standings. The matchups were so close that it added an extra level of thrill to the competition.
The Firecracker 4 who will be advancing to the next round are Sgt. Alex Lott from the Perry Police Department, who will face off against Jackson VanKirk from Progressive Foundry. In the other matchup, Ivette Drahos from The Lazy Goose will be competing against Jayde Fellom from Blonde Sisters Boutique.
Lynsi Pasutti, the Executive Director of the Perry Chamber of Commerce, expressed her gratitude towards everyone who had contributed to the fireworks drive so far, emphasizing that every donation matters, including spare change collected in jars at local establishments like Ben’s and the Rec.
The third round of the contest is currently open for donations until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26. Shortly after, the Final Showdown will begin at noon on the same day. Donations can be made online at GiveButter.com/Perry-Chamber-Foundation or in-person at the McCreary Community Building and Ben’s Five & Dime. They can also be delivered to the Perry Chamber of Commerce or mailed to their designated PO Box.
The Big Boom Bracket Battle has proven to be a thrilling and successful fundraiser for Perry’s Fourth of July fireworks display. With four weeks of ‘head-to-head’ contests, the advancement in the bracket is determined solely by community donations. The ultimate winner will not only receive bragging rights and a traveling trophy but will also be rewarded with a pie in their face in April.

Toto kolo bylo očekávaně lehčí, protože zde bylo méně soutěžících a mnozí z nich věnovali významné úsilí, aby se dostali přes první kolo. Poslední okamžité příspěvky se valily, což vedlo ke vzrušujícím změnám v konečném pořadí. Zápasy byly tak vyrovnané, že do soutěže přidalo extra napětí.
Firecracker 4, kteří postoupí do dalšího kola, jsou seržant Alex Lott z policie Perry, který se utká s Jacksonem VanKirken z Progressive Foundry. V druhém zápase se Ivette Drahosová z The Lazy Goose utká s Jaydou Fellom z Blonde Sisters Boutique.
